Second Life Tutorials

Welcome to the Tutorials page!  Finally, another tutorial here.

LSL JumpStart
A basic guide for beginners, showing the ropes, introducing syntax, and teaching how to script without actually knowing the LSL scripting language. *updated 5/21/07 (page 3)
Gestures!  Not Just for Silly Actions Anymore!
Two new and actually useful uses for Gestures.
Blender for Sculpties,
The Easy, Painless Way
You don't need to learn Blender to make great sculpties!  Use your own favorite modelling app(s), then use Domino's Blender Sculpty plug-in to make gorgeous sculpties from your objects. It's easy, I promise!

Other Resources

The LSL Wiki:   LSLWiki.com  ...or... LSLWiki.net  ...or perhaps... http://www.lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=HomePage??
Well, until they get straightened out, the LSL Wiki Mirror!  There are tutorials here, plus all the reference materials.  It's very geek, so don't despair if you don't fully understand it.

In-World Classes

Can't forget the in-world stuff!  Go to Search, Events, and put the drop-down list on Educational.  Many, many classes are free!  Some of the heavy-duty ones cost, though.

Mystical Mastery:   I am teaching my scripting classes here.  They are geared towards beginner and intermediate scripters to tinker with functions and stretch their abilities.  These classes are all free!

My Class Schedule:  I teach most weeks on three different days at three different times.  The scripting classes will be repeated as long as there is a need for them (probably forever!).  Please check the Events schedule every week, and do not despair if you miss a day/time.  I *do* take some weeks off to rest and recuperate, so also don't panic if you don't see the classes listed.

My Class List:
Script Tinkering I:  Pinwheel
This is a basic beginning scripting class, explaining States, Events, and Functions.
Script Tinkering II:  Magic Infinity Ball
This is a beginning scripting class, explaining Global and Local Variables, exploring lists and randomization.
Script Tinkering III:  BubbleWand
This is an exploration of Particle Systems, using Jopsy's Basic Particle FX tool.
Script Tinkering IV:  Slide Cube
A two-part intermediate class exploring Textures, Text, Dialogues, and "if" statements.
Script Tinkering V: SnakeDen Tip Jar
A two-part intermediate class where we learn about rotations, money, and Temp-On-Rez.
