Anborn Stradjinski

Anborn Stradjinski
(strahd JIN ski)

Ht: 6'3"
Wt: muscular
H: black, midlength, wavy; moustache & goatee
E: brown
S: bronze-tinted
Age: 33

Description:
--------------------------

Anborn is well-muscled with broad shoulders and chest and large, sword-calloused hands.  He is not overly-built, and actually stands a few inches shorter than most warriors.  As a horseman, he has strong legs slightly bowed out at the knee.
He has a squared jaw, strong brow and cheekbones.  His eyes are a dark coffee brown; deepset, with an intense gaze.  He wears his beard shaved at the sides, with the front neatly trimmed in a dark moustache and goatee.  His hair is dark and thick with strong waves.  Usually, he keeps it swept or tied back, and no longer than to his shoulders.
Anborn has many various scars.  The most noticeable and distinctive are those on his forearms, just above the wrists, where are branded symbols of a circle divided by a vertical line.

Personality:
----------------------------

Anborn is Polonian; being stubborn is a genetic trait.  Stubborn, obstinate, pig-headed, hot-headed, contentious, bad-tempered... but otherwise, a pretty nice guy.  He is a hard man; he grew up in a harsh time in a harsh land.  He is strong in his convictions and loyal to his values.
He suffers from occassional black moods, and can be unpredictible in his temper.  You have been warned.

     See also  Polonia.
     See also  Valken.
     See also Main Page.

Anborn is without the use of his legs.  He has a chair, cobbled together out of a handcart and some sawn-off piece of furniture that allows him to get around, at least in a limited fashion.

((Notice:  no, i am not paraplegic in real life.  i am NOT playing one for any prurient reasons, nor for any disrespect of any disabled persons of any kind.  for reasons why i do, see the OOC info below.))

Anborn's Animals

Rockslide:
---------------------------------

Rockslide is a dapple grey draft mare.  She stands over 18 hands high, weighs a ton, and has a fierce demeanor.  She is a highly-trained warhorse, loyal and obedient to Anboorn.  She is aggressive in battle and deadly with her hooves.  Do not touch, unless you fancy losing a limb.

Sirocco:
---------------------------------
Sirocco is an Araby mare.  She has a fiery spirit and is very intelligent.  She is trained for show and knows many tricks, both by rein, leg, and verbal commands, as well as a few hand signals.
(currently an NPC animal, because i haven't dropped cash to actually buy one. :X )

Bastard:
---------------------------------
Well, that's his name.  He's a mule; he's stubborn, and not particularly bright, but at least he is steady and useful for carting around Anborn and Valken's gear.  Once he gets moving, at least.
(currently an NPC animal.)

Anborn's Scars

Does your RP character have any distinctive scars?  I have developed a method for painting scars to blend with the underlying skin (this one is Nomine's Sylvan Bronze).  Anborn's are on the new Tattoo layer, but they work on the underwear layers as well (or a tad better, as those layers can be tinted for better blending).  Facial scars are now possible, *if* you have a 2.0-compatible client.  Heaven forbid you have to use the monstrostiy that is 2.0, but Cool/Rainbow has this feature, and Emerald should have it soon.
I will make custom scars for your character for 500 Lindens, over one weekend.  Please contact Anborn with inquiries if you see him, or Bloodsong Termagant.

OOC Background & Trivia:
------------------------------

Anborn's name and general concept are lifted from The Symphony of the Ages books by Elizabeth Haydon.  My Anborn is not the same Anborn, however -- I just became rather attached to that name while working with him.  I was fascinated with the idea of a big, bad-ass warrior becoming crippled and having to deal with that.  And, hey, Haydon hasn't done much with it for a while! (Hurry up, woman!)  I thought it would be interesting to try to roleplay it.
Anborn's look and general demeanor are swiped from Kevin Smith's portrayal of Ares on the Xena/Hercules shows.

Hey, there's two schools of thought.  1: that every idea is unique and springs pure from the mind of its creator.  or 2: that no idea is ever unique, because whatever comes OUT of your mind had to go in there in some form or another in the first place.  I don't mind giving props to the sources of my ideas.

Polonia is my medieval fantasy country based on (guess what), the history of Poland.  I have decided to combine two eras I find the most interesting: the dominance of the winged hussars and the Nazi occupation.
Though I am of Polish descent, I have never been to Poland.  Nevertheless, I have inherited a strong patriotic love for Poland and a spirit of solidarity.  I sort of have a romantic concept of Poland, and this I have put into my version of Polonia.  I've also swiped several place and geographical names.

The Religion is one I have made up, based on/borrowing from both real and fantasy religions as well as being somewhat reactionary to them.  And, oh yeah, I swiped the names of some real (and even some fictional) deities.  I'm shameless, I tell you.
